How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging since October 2012. But I’ve only recently been book blogging. My first venture into the world of book-lovers was through Twitter, but back then (it seems like such a long time ago) I interacted more with writers than with readers. At the end of last year I started to receive ARCs and review copies of books, and people started reading my blog, and I posted more often. This year I’ve made so many more connections with Australian book bloggers, and I just love the community.

Other than reviews, what can we expect to see at your blog?

I post two or three reviews a week. On Wednesday’s you can expect Loony’s Musings, which is when I talk about all things book-related. I participate in Top Ten Tuesdays, which is always fun. Saturdays are mostly about writing. Occasionally I’ll host a themed week – so far I’ve had Top Ten Week and Fangirl Frenzy Week. Both were really fun!

What are some of the highlights of your blogging career?

Getting my first ARC from Allen and Unwin at the end of last year. Every comment on my blog posts (they make my day, really). Getting to know other bloggers over Twitter. Swapping books through the post with Mel from YA Midnight Reads. So many things!

Share with us some of your favourite genres:

My overall favourite genre is YA contemporary. I also love YA speculative fiction, especially retellings of fairytales (like the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer and Splintered by A G Howard). I like a lot of MG, a genre I’m getting into more lately.

Share with us some of your favourite books/series:

Harry Potter; anything John Green, Stephanie Perkins, Kasie West or Rainbow Rowell; His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman; The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer; It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini; The Solitaire Mystery by Jostein Gaarder; The Artemis Fowl Series by Eoin Colfer; Splintered and Unhinged by A G Howard; Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll; The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and okay I should probably stop now.

In terms of Aussie writers, I love Ellie Marney, Emily Gale, Markus Zusak, Gabrielle Tozer, Barry Jonsberg, Karen Foxlee, Steph Bowe, Melissa Keil and Will Kostakis.
